“University Red” is a colorway comprising red and white panels, however, there’s more the pair than what initially meets the eye. Underpinning the classic design is the Next Nature program; Nike’s sustainable arm which makes shoes using at least 20% recycled and upcycled materials.

Here, eco-friendly approaches have been applied all around the sneaker, notably on the sole unit which is made from Grind rubber — Nike’s circular approach to making sole units from old rubber from used, unwanted sneakers. Further noting the sustainable effort are the “Volt” insoles which have been emblazoned with Nike’s Move to Zero pinwheels.
